We’re thrilled to support four outstanding early-career researchers in attending the International Population Data Linkage Network (IPDLN) Conference in Rotterdam from 13–16 July, where they’ll showcase innovative research powered by the PHRN infrastructure. Each recipient will receive up to $5,000 in travel support to present work tackling some of Australia’s most important health and social challenges through research using linked data.

Dr Lachlan Dalli from Monash University will present pharmacoepidemiology research using linked datasets to improve understanding of the safe, appropriate and equitable use of medicines for stroke prevention.

Lindsay Pearce, from Curtin University and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, will present research supporting improved prison health data collection, with a focus on the health and health service use of justice-involved young people in Australia.

Dr Tesfahun Eshetie from the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute will discuss his work as a geriatric pharmacoepidemiologist, using linked aged care and health data to monitor the quality and safety of long-term care.

Dr Georgina Lau, also from Monash University, will examine how people with serious injuries access and engage with public mental health services, using linked data from the Victorian State Trauma Registry and the National Health Data Hub.
