  • Data linkage key to improved health care efficiency

    The 17th European Health Forum Gastein was held between 1-3 October 2014 in the Gastein Valley, Austria. This annual event is a meeting point for experts from different fields within the health system in Europe. At the Forum, Francesca Colombo, Head of the OECD’s Health Division, talked about data linkage being the key to improving health care efficiencies in Europe.

  • WA unveils advances in linked data delivery systems

    Tuesday, 05 August 2014 

    A letter was published in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Public Health about the WA Data Linkage Branch's Custodian Administered Research Extract Server (CARES); a central data extraction hub designed to speed up the extraction process. The letter highlights the concept of CARES and why it is necessary in a distributed model.

  • NCRIS capabilities allocated $150 million in 2014/15 Budget

    The 2014-15 Commonwealth Budget has allocated $150 million in 2015-16 so that the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) can continue to support the operation and maintenance of existing nationally significant research infrastructure facilities such as the PHRN until 30 June 2016.

  • Second International Health Data Linkage Conference a success

    The second International Health Data Linkage Conference was held in Vancouver, Canada 28-30 April 2014. Australia and the PHRN were well represented at the conference both in attendance and presentations. Videos and slides of the keynote speakers as well as the presentations from the concurrent sessions are now available on the conference website.

The article, titled 'When it comes to scientific data, sharing is caring', arose from the Research Data Alliance's Third Plenary Meeting in Dublin, which Dr Wilkinson, executive director of the Australian National Data Service, attended.
