A report by the Council of the Canadian Academies, Accessing Health and Health-Related Data in Canada, examines the technological and methodological challenges of accessing data, the benefits and risks of such access, legal and ethical considerations, and best practices for governance mechanisms that enable access. In its discussion, the report identified the WA Data Linkage Branch among six best practice examples of timely and safe use of health and care data.
