Tuesday, 17 July 2018Every two years, the members of the International Population Data Linkage Network (IPDLN) elect a new director for a two-year term. The director and their home institution are responsible for managing the IPDLN, and the director chairs the IPDLN Executive Committee. The 2020 IPDLN Conference will be organized by the next director.

PHRN to receive $23.8M in additional funding
Thursday, 21 June 2018In the May 2018 budget, the Australian Government announced a further $19.5 million in PHRN NCRIS funding for the period July 2019 to June 2023. This is a continuation of existing NCRIS funding with indexation. In addition, the Minister for Education and Training, Minister Simon Birmingham, announced on 15 May 2018, that $4.4 million in new funding will be invested in the PHRN. The new funding which includes over $2 million for capital investment was announced as part of the Government Response to the 2016 Roadmap for National Research Infrastructure.

Friday, 01 June 2018The Minister for Education and Training, Minister Simon Birmingham announced the release of the national Research Infrastructure Investment Plan on 15 May 2018. This includes $4.4 million for the Population Health Research Network (PHRN) to maintain the national infrastructure that enables existing health and human services data from around the nation to be linked in privacy-preserving ways and made available for research purposes. The network includes (i) data linage services at regional and national level; (ii) secure file transfer and access services; and (iii) coordination of the Network.
