Vote PHRN for the IPDLN Directorship for 2019 - 2020

Vote PHRN for the IPDLN Directorship for 2019 - 2020

Tuesday, July 17, 2018

Every two years, the members of the International Population Data Linkage Network (IPDLN) elect a new director for a two-year term. The director and their home institution are responsible for managing the IPDLN, and the director chairs the IPDLN Executive Committee. The 2020 IPDLN Conference will be organized by the next director.

All members of the IPDLN are eligible to vote. The winning applicant will be announced at the 2018 IPDLN Conference in Banff, Alberta in September. Voting closes August 3.

Population Health Research Network (PHRN) is pleased to have made a submission in conjunction with one of its members, South Australia Northern Territory DataLink (SA NT DataLink). It proposes that IPDLN Directorship activities for the next two year period are provided by the PHRN co-ordinating office (the Program Office) based at The University of Western Australia (UWA) and that the IPDLN Conference 2020 is held in Adelaide in conjunction with SA NT DataLink.

Data linkage has a significant role in reduction of cervical cancer in Australia. The HPV vaccine was introduced in 2007, success of the vaccine was monitored by linking vaccine registers to cervical smear registers in Queensland & Victoria.
