The Australian Government is investing $13.6 million to progress key national health and medical research reforms; improve earlier access to emerging treatments, strengthen Australia’s clinical trials and deliver better health outcomes for Australians.
The funding will progress the design of the National One Stop Shop for clinical trials, of which PHRN is an active participant. Next steps include developing national standard operating procedures for clinical trials, implementing the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework, and developing an accreditation scheme for the human research ethics committees.
These once-in-a-generation health and medical research reforms will support Australia’s health and medical researchers and ensure more people benefit from potentially life-changing treatments and emerging therapies.
