Business Development - Strategic Partnerships
Population Health Research Network and Bioplatforms Australia are jointly seeking a multi-talented and proactive Business Development Manager - Strategic Partnerships Advisor to assist with a spectrum of activities including business development, scientific guidance, and connectivity for users to the dual PHRN and Bioplatforms (Joint Capability) portfolios. This intended outcome is streamlined access to a broad range of national research infrastructures. The appointee will also develop a close working relationship to actively and jointly support research through large national projects (e.g. MRFF-supported functional genomics activities).
Responsibilities
Under broad direction, working with significant autonomy, the Business Development Manager - Strategic Partnerships Advisor will be responsible for:
- undertaking business development activities on behalf the Joint Capabilities;
- promoting the Joint Capabilities' offerings to the research community, including universities, research institutes and biotechnology companies within Australia and overseas;
- creating opportunities to direct potential collaborators to the appropriate facility in a timely manner;
- reviewing and updating promotional materials related to the Joint Capabilities;
- contributing to strategic planning and strategy implementation for the Joint Capabilities as required; and
- other duties as directed, including assisting with periodic reporting.
The post holder jointly reports to the CEO of PHRN and the Chief Executive of Bioplatforms and will have frequent contact with the leadership of the Joint Capabilities as well as other key stakeholders.
The post holder will be employed by Bioplatforms Australia Ltd.
Accountabilities
- Business development: though promotion to universities, research institutes and SMEs within Australia.
- Client relationship management: providing efficient and effective support for clients and prospective clients.
- Strategic planning: Developing and implementing strategies for expanding the capability's capacity and service offerings.
- Roadshows and promotion: Managing the capability's contribution to planned PHRN and Bioplatforms promotional events.
