  • $10.24M funding win for PHRN

    Yesterday, the Australian Government Department of Education announced Population Health Research Network (PHRN) will receive an additional $10.24 million in funding under the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS), to address Australia’s strategic science and research priorities, benefit industry and keep Australians healthy.

    This is in addition to $26.4 million operational funding provided for the PHRN in 2023-28 through NCRIS 2022.

    The new funding includes $5.88 million for PHRN’s Trial Link initiative which will create a range of linked data assets and services for researchers developing new medical products.

  • Metadata Toolbox Project

    Our new web-based metadata application provides a centralised platform, helping researchers identify what linked datasets are available across Australia. The search, browse and filter capability and presents asset metadata in a standardised format, enabling researchers to better evaluate the suitability of datasets across jurisdictions.

    Access to variable lists, data dictionary and data quality statements are provided where available. Other key features include FAQs and publications.

  • New Impact Story: Breaking the Cycle

  • Australian Health Research Infrastructure Underpins World-First Brain Cancer Collaboration

    The NCRIS Health Group will support Australian brain cancer research through Brain Cancer Biobanking Australia’s project to develop an integrated network of research platforms to improve patient outcomes, test new treatments and work toward a cure, with the announcement of a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) grant worth just under $6M.
